Seminole County offers a rebate program for current water utility customers who upgrade their irrigation systems with WaterSense-labeled smart irrigation controllers. This conservation initiative helps residents reduce water consumption on their landscapes.
Customers may qualify for a rebate of up to $200 when they replace their old irrigation timer with an EPA WaterSense-labeled smart irrigation controller.
Program Details:
Rebates are funded by Seminole County and the St. Johns River Water Management District for unincorporated Seminole County Utility Customers.
Available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted or until September 15, 2025, whichever comes first.
The rebate amount will be applied as a credit to the following month’s water bill—no direct payments will be issued.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be a Seminole County Utilities customer (i.e., your water bill is paid directly to Seminole County, not a city or private utility).
The controller must be a new, standalone EPA WaterSense-labeled controller. Plug-in or add-on units, as well as homes using water from a well, lake, pond, etc. for irrigation, are not eligible.
The rebate amount is 100% of the cost of the controller, up to $200 (excluding taxes, shipping/handling, and other fees).
You must have an existing, operational and in-ground irrigation system at the time of the upgrade.
Only one (1) rebate per single-family residence (including owner-occupied homes, condos, and mobile homes).
Additional irrigation system upgrades do not qualify for this rebate.
The new smart controller must be installed and documented with photos before submitting the application (no exceptions).
Seminole County does not guarantee product performance or installation quality.
Seminole County reserves the right to deny rebates for failure to meet program requirements.
